Environment, Landscape and Agriculture in Pantelleria and the research that the Pantelleria Island National Park carries out in collaboration with the Department of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Sciences (SAAF) of the University of Palermo and the Institut Ecologie et Environnement (INEE) of the "Center Nationale de la Recherche Scientifique "(CNRS) in France are the protagonists on May 25, 2022, in the “Aula Magna G.P. Ballatore” of the SAAF Department of the University of Palermo, in an international meeting that takes place in a moment of reflection to present the results of the research carried out in the context of a memorandum of understanding signed by the organizers in 2019. The occasion is also that of presenting the first two volumes of the "Quaderni del Parco" book series: " Il paesaggio rurale tradizionale dell’Isola di Pantelleria ", by Giorgia De Pasquale and " L’Isola di Pantelleria, l’alleanza di uomini e pietre " by Virginie Deguillame, and of which the community of farmers of Pantelleria and the landscape they gave us are the protagonists. Data and reflections that are of interest that go beyond the island, and which constitute a model for many areas of the Mediterranean. The meeting will also be an opportunity to illustrate the further collaborative initiatives towards the establishment in Pantelleria of a chapter of the "Osservatori Uomo-Ambiente / Observatoires Homme-Milieu" tool, a CNRS network developed on a global scale for the interdisciplinary study of environmental processes of ecosystems and the interactions with human activities.
